Platform: Windows (All Versions)

Review by George Norman (Cybersecurity Editor)

Instead of a brush, you have the mouse cursor. Instead of a canvas, you have a user friendly interface. Instead of messy paint, you have multiple color options. Instead of physical limitations, you have multiple means of drawing anything you want.

What I mean to say is that SketchPort is available for lots of platforms. You can draw using the SketchPort application for Windows and Mac OS X. You can draw using the SketchPort app for iOS and Android. And you can even draw in your web browser by going to the SketchPort.com website.

The main part of the interface is the virtual canvas onto which you will draw anything you want. Down at the bottom you will see controls (or tools) you can use to draw; the controls can be hidden out of sight from the View menu or by using the Ctrl + H hotkey. From the same View Menu, or by using the Ctrl + G hotkey, you can toggle a handy grid.

From the aforementioned interface you can access the following drawing functions: pick a brush color; add layers; switch between brush mode and fill mode; erase mode; undo/redo function; pick the brush size; set brush alpha and brush blur; save the drawing to the location of your choosing; submit/post your drawing to SketchPort.

SketchPort is free software. The developer wants “everybody to be free to create art.”

Draw when you’re on your PC, draw on your mobile, draw whenever you can open the web browser. SketchPort allows you to draw anything you want, on any platform you want.

Pros

SketchPort is available for lots of platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, web. The interface is very, very easy to use. Save your drawing locally or post it to SketchPort. SketchPort is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
